We pray first
Starting January 5th Heartland, as a church family, will be embarking on a prayer journey for 21days. Prayer is not a work of a Christian, prayer is the work. One of the times Jesus talked about prayer with his disciples was when He stated in Matthew 9 that the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." 21 Days of Prayer is about praying first before accomplishing what God wants for our church.
Building our prayer muscle is important. To help with that in 2024 we did 40 days of prayer to help us to learn to be praying people. We also looked at prayer during the summer. This set the table for what we do in the future, 21 Days of Prayer at the start of every new year. Revival, repentance, and victory require that prayer be a significant part of our church's DNA. I hope you grow deeper and closer to God these next 21 days of prayer. I hope we as a church grow stronger as one church family as well. That we would be a church that gets excited when someone says "let us pray..." Each Sunday evening there will be a prayer meeting. On January 26th we will gather together Sunday evening for a prayer worship service to close out our time.
If you are new to praying, I would suggest working through the Pray First book to help learn what prayer is and different ways to pray. For a next step, the prayer guide will be helpful for the 21 days of Prayer. At the same time during the 21 Days of Prayer we will be building our prayer force. You get to opt in to how you want to pray for the church family:
